Rully rouge Premier Cru Les Préaux

Rully produces slightly less red wine than white, but Les Préaux is a Premier Cru made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in a tiny vineyard on the hill behind the imposing Château Rully. Jean-Claude first does a cold maceration before a 15-day fermentation followed by 12 months' ageing in oak before bottling.

The wine has a bright ruby/purple colour and an elegant bouquet with notes of violets and cherries. Ripe fruit flavours of raspberry and cherry dominate a palate with a hint of spice from the oak, underscored with soft tannin and fine acidity. Ready to drink immediately, it will benefit from a few months of bottle ageing, and will keep well for up to 10 years if carefully cellared. Best served just below room temperature, it goes very well with charcuterie, grilled or roast meat, and mild, hard cheeses.

Rully blanc La Barre

BREL blanc

Our white wine from Domaine Brelière is an exclusive cuvée made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyard La Barre, to the west of the village. Yields are kept deliberately low and the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels before bottling. It has a very distinctive melon and floral bouquet that follows through to the palate with a long mineral and flinty aftertaste. This wine exhibits all the characteristics of a fine white burgundy - ripe fruit, depth of flavour and a long, lingering finish. It is ready to drink straight away but will also keep well for up to five years. Chill for a couple of hours in the fridge and serve with fish, shellfish and white meat.
