Crémant de Loire rosé Cuvée Esprit de Sophie NV
Anjou rouge Les Noëlles 2010

Vintage 2010 in theLoirewas another excellent one, continuing the trend throughout the decade.  A very cold, restorative winter was followed by a normal spring and dry summer. Welcome rain early September provided much needed nourishment to the vines and those who picked late into October were able to make wines with lovely concentration of fruit and balanced acidity.

When conditions are right, Georges’ Anjourouge is stunning; the 2003 won a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge and last year’s Option was awarded a Silver.  Your exclusive Les Noëlles 2010 is a unique blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.  It has the characteristic Cabernet Franc nose of raspberry, green pepper and earth.  The flavours are fresh and vibrant with depth of red and black fruits, tobacco and cream.  It has a youthful tannic grip at present which will soften out over the next couple of years.  This extremely versatile wine can be drunk lightly chilled accompanying a plate of crudités, or perhaps a hearty, traditional Sunday lunch. Drink to 2019-2020.

This is the third year in which we are delighted to offer you Georges’ delicious and great value Crémant de Loire sparkling pink.  It has proved to be extremely popular with Partners, particularly as the wine of choice for summer celebrations.  It is a blend of a third Chenin Blanc a third Chardonnay and a third Cabernet Franc.  Aged on the lees for 24 months, it has an attractive salmon pink colour and a fresh, fruity and fragrant nose. The palate is soft and creamy with red fruit and delicate raspberry flavours and long, mouth-filling finish.  It is a very elegant and stylish offering that makes an excellent alternative to champagne.
