Maison Lenique News
Summer 2008: Bertrand and Valérie Robinet, our Champagne producers at Maison Lenique, are now having to clear more space in their cave for their latest clutch of awards. They came away with a Gold for their Réserve Blanc de Blancs, Silvers for their Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs 2003 (this year’s Option wine) and their Champagne 2003 and a Bronze for their Champagne Sélection.
They also received a Silver Medal for their Brut Champagne at the Concours Général de Paris, as well as a Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for their réserve Blanc de Blancs.
Spring 2008: Our exclusive Champagne Cuvée 3D, produced for us by Bertrand and Valérie Robinet at Maison Lenique, was recommended in the January 2008 issue of Decanter. It was described as “Citrussy, daring aromas. Dancing, racy character” and was given a ‘good value’ accreditation to boot.
Partners at Maison Lenique may also be interested to know that Valérie and Bertrand have reserved a small number of tickets for us to join them for a day bubbling with fun and conviviality at the annual Champagne Randonnée – a 7km walk with plenty of refreshments en route – in June. To make a weekend of it we’ve reserved rooms at the majestic Hotel de la Paix in Reims and an evening meal in the acclaimed Millenaire restaurant.

Summer 2007: Well done to Bertrand and Valerie at Maison Lenique for capturing a hatful of awards this year. Their Champagne Cuvée 3D won a Gold – not only this, but their Grand Cru Blanc de blancs 2002, Vintage 2002 and Cuvée de Reserve Blanc de blancs all won Silvers.
The judges were particularly impressed with the clean, pure, minerally style of these champagnes, together with their richness and balance. If you’re wondering how to celebrate another heatwave this year… then look no further!
Furthermore, they were are extremely successful at the annual Concours Général Agricole de Paris. Their Champagne Cuvée Selection Brut NV, their main house champagne, won a Gold Medal and their Champagne Blanc de blanc NV was awarded a Silver.

Autumn 2006: Maison Lenique has been harvesting an
impressive crop of medals this year. Their Champagne Réserve Blanc de
blancs Brut won a Gold Medal at Brussels and a Silver Medal at
Vinalies, whilst their Champagne Sélection Brut also won a Gold Medal
at Brussels and a Silver at the Concours Agricole de Paris. Despite a
cold spring, extremely hot July and a rainy August, Bertrand and
Valérie are seeing healthy grapes auguring a “belle and bonne” harvest.
