Pricing policy

All our wine prices are ex-VAT. This is because you have the option of collecting your wine in France or having it delivered to your home in the UK. When we know which option you wish, we apply the appropriate VAT rate as follows:

  • UK deliveries = UK VAT @ 17.5%
  • Collect in France (vineyard or Calais) = French VAT @ 19.6%

When your wine is ready, you will receive your Wine Option letter with fully inclusive sterling prices for all delivery options. We calculate the sterling prices according to the exchange rate on the offer date and add on delivery costs for Calais/UK if required.

One thing we can guarantee is that your wine will be excellent value for money. Because we work very closely with our winemakers, many of our wines represent great value compared to wines of an equivalent quality from a standard UK retailer.

In the press

We regularly receive acknowledgment from the leading journals for our great value wines:

French Magazine - August 2006

Alex Barrau, former sommelier picks our Sancerre Les Caillottes as his ‘star choice’ (5-star rating). Our Sancerre was also the most inexpensive wine in the tasting.

"It has a fresh, clean-cut taste with hints of blackcurrant and gooseberry and is a definite must for a gourmet dinner - think fresh langoustines and grilled scallops on a warm summer’s evening.”

Wine & Sprit Magazine - March 2006

In a recent Hit List of top Burgundies in Wine & Spirit Magazine, our wines represented 13 out of the total 41 listed (32%), furthermore it was our Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Perrières which received the ‘Good Value’ accreditation.

Decanter - November 2005

Our Gevrey-Chambertin En Songe was selected as ‘Wine of the Month’ by Decanter, and was seen by the panel as offering great quality at an amazingly competitive price. In fact, our price was less than half of the average of most of the wines featured.

"Lots of sweet, fresh plum-spice fruit. Damsony fleshiness and sweetness too. Deep, well defined, searching fullness, well-managed tannins. True wealth of flavour, energy but real Burgundian character too.”
