Collecting your wine
Direct from your vineyard
Most Partners prefer to collect their wine direct from their vineyard and bring it back entirely duty free (there is no restriction on the amount of wine bought in the EU if personally imported for your own consumption).
Your Option letter will let you know when your wine is ready for collection, you can arrange to pick up your wine at any time over the year. All you need to do is let us know when you plan to visit and we’ll make your vineyard appointment for you (to ensure that someone will be on hand to welcome you when you arrive). We can also personally recommend hotels, restaurants, gîtes and chambre d’hôtes in the vicinity, make a booking for you and confirm your reservation.
In addition, don’t forget that as a Partner with 3D Wines, you automatically get free membership of The Ferry Travel Club, who can make all your travel arrangements - at the cheapest rate possible.
From Calais
If you are unable to visit your vineyard but can go to Calais to collect your wine (to avoid duty and shipment costs), we have a designated collection point called Franglais Vins.
Franglais Vins is a local business run by brothers-in-law Olivier Versmisse and Jérôme Pont. They are open 364 days a year; they are easy to find; are only minutes from the ferry port and tunnel terminal; and there is plenty of parking. Franglais Vins stock a large range of wines from all over the world and always have interesting wines available to taste - and when you show them your 3D Wines Partner’s card you will also get a special discount on all still wine purchases.
Delivered to the UK
If you are unable to travel to France when your Option wine is available - don’t worry! We can arrange shipment direct to you at your home. You will be required to pay a shipment fee and duty, but all the Option costs are clearly outlined in your letter.
If you originally choose to collect your wine at the vineyard or from Calais and later find you are unable to do so, it is possible to have your wine shipped to the UK. However, please note that this may result in delays, as shipments have to be carefully planned in advance.
