Not far from the 17th century citadel of Blaye, our winemakers, Jean-Michel and Françoise Baudet, have worked hard to achieve their dream of creating a new appellation, Blaye, which officially became the Grand Cru of the area in 2000.  The château was built around 1500 and since 1894 five generations of the Baudet family have produced quality wine here.  Our exclusive wine is a rich, concentrated claret made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot produced from the estates’ oldest vines.  Partners in this vineyard are also invited to join us on our annual Bordeaux Revelation weekend where we visit all our Bordeaux vineyards. > Read more

The young and dynamic couple of Pierre and Daniella Fresne make true vins de terroir – a rarity in champagne.  They own six hectares of vines in a single Premier Cru plot in the pretty village of Villedommange which overlooks Reims. This is an area well worth a visit – the cellars are deep and dark and one can marvel at the traditional ways employed by Pierre in the making of his champagnes.  His vintage Fresnesie 2002 recently won a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge.  Their Pinot Noir dominated champagnes are quickly gaining recognition outside of France.  > Read more

This is one of our most popular vineyards.  Small by champagne standards, this family-run property in the Côte de Blancs near Épernay make very elegant Chardonnay-dominated champagnes.  Our special cuvée is a blend of around 50% Chardonnay with the balance being Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir with ageing on the lees of around 24 months.  It is crisp, with elegant acacia and citrus fruit flavours and a rounded, creamy mousse.  A great value champagne for parties and special occasions!  > Read more

The majestic wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape offer wonderful perfumes and heady, spicy flavours that are quite unmistakeable.  We have worked with this small, family-run domaine for three years now and already their wines have won top awards at international competitions.  Next year they will have full organic status and their blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre from ancient vines give hedonistic wines that are at once juicy and supple and approachable and yet will outlast a decade or more quite easily. We have worked with Montirius for almost a decade now.  Their wines, which are organic and biodynamic, continue to go from strength to strength.  The Saurels use no chemicals, sprays and pesticides and they carry out their work to the phases of the moon and planets.  Their wines have staggeringly pure fruit flavours, unencumbered by oak, and despite their heady nature, have amazing balance and finesse too.  A visit to this fascinating domaine is almost obligatory!  > Read more
