New Zealand - Kahurangi Estate

We are delighted and thrilled to introduce our very first non-French vineyard.  In our opinion, there is no more exciting a country, vinously speaking, outside France, than New Zealand.  Winemaking here is still a relatively new industry, having become world-renowned only since the mid- to late 1980s. 

Kahurangi Estate is based in Nelson on the beautiful northwestern coast of the South Island – some two hours drive from Marlborough.  It was established in the 1970s but was purchased by Greg and Amanda Day in 1998.  They changed the name to Kahurangi, meaning ‘treasured possession’ in Maori, and set about investing a great deal of time, energy and money into making it one of the most respected boutique wineries in the region. 

The region of Nelson offers idyllic landscapes of lakes, rivers, mountains and national parks. It also has a wonderfully vibrant, bohemian culture and lifestyle too.  In keeping with the clean, green image that New Zealand enjoys, Greg is working hard at becoming fully organic. 

Partners in Kahurangi will automatically receive an invitation to our annual New Zealand wine tasting and dinner in the UK hosted by 3D and Greg and Amanda Day. 

As a Partner at the Kahurangi Estate your allocation of wine is:

• Heaphy Sauvignon Blanc (white)
  3 cases (36 bottles) maximum

• Heaphy Pinot Noir (red)
  1 case (12 bottles) maximum

Your wine is available in June each year; Partners joining after May 1st in any year will receive their Option the following year.
