Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil
Our Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, made from the Cabernet Franc grape and smelling sweetly of raspberries, is a wonderfully refreshing wine with youthful vitality and charm, yet it is also capable of ageing well for many years. It is ruby red to purple in colour, with a bouquet of red fruit and violets. On the palate it is light and fruity, with plenty of balancing acidity and soft tannin that will help the wine to age well for many years.
This wine goes particularly well with white meats and roasts, although it is good with most dishes that do not have a very highly-flavoured sauce. It is also a good accompaniment to charcuterie and to cheese, especially goat's cheese and the local Saint-Maure-de-Touraine. Drunk cellar-cool on a warm summer's day it is one of the most refreshing red wines we know.
