Comte de Lantage

Our Champagne House, Comte de Lantage, is in the small village of Cerseuil, just to the west of Epernay. The owners Stéphane and Virginie Philizot come from a family of viticulteurs spanning four generations and they impressed us immediately with their enthusiasm, dedication and joie de vivre.

Comte de Lantage was the Champagne House founded by Alain Mandois in 1987, and named after the Count of Lantage whose favourite pastime was to invite other members of the nobility for a hunt followed by the ‘fine wines of Champagne’. After deciding to retire from the business in 2006, Alain set about finding the right successors with the dedication, skills and the passion to take it on, as well as the warmth and charm to look after 3D Partners. It wasn’t easy! But finally we were delighted to be presented with Stéphane and Virginie Philizot, who were already producing a successful range of elegant and characterful champagnes in the nearby village of Reuil. The Philizots are now well-installed in their new surroundings, and are also delighted to welcome Partners to their very luxurious chambres d’hôtes in their home in Reuil where they have a small pool and private garden.
