Givry Rouge
This red wine is made from hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes, from vines with an average age of over 25 years. After a long fermentation the wine is aged for between 12 and 18 months in oak barrels, many of which are renewed each year. This produces a delicious cherry-chewy, slightly smoky wine with just a hint of spice. It is a well-balanced mid-weight wine, which has a deliciously lively and fruity palate and a medium-long finish. Like all good burgundy it goes on improving for a number of years in bottle, but as a guide, is at its best between five and seven years from the vintage.
