Bourgogne Rouge Les Plantats
This exclusive red is a Bourgogne Rouge made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown on the elevated east-facing slopes of a vineyard called Les Plantats. Temperature-controlled vinification is followed by gentle pressing and 8 months' maturation in cuve before light filtration and bottling at the domaine.
The wine is clean, bright and highly coloured with a very developed bouquet of red fruits and spice. On the palate it is rich and smooth with a good backbone of fine tannins. Secondary flavours of liquorice and pepper come through to complement the red and black fruit taste. Served slightly below room temperature (about 16°C), it goes well with soft, highly-flavoured cheese like ripe Camembert or Brie. It can be drunk young or will develop further in bottle for another two or three years.
