Mercurey Premier Cru Les Byots

Les Byots is characterised by a wonderful deep colour; purple with ruby hints and an enticing nose of ripe cherry fruit, a splash of new oak, sweet spices and the classic Pinot Noir ‘undergrowth’ that so characterises Burgundy. The palate is fresh and lively with lovely crunchy, mouthfilling morello cherry, maybe a touch of blackcurrant too, vanilla spice and cedary oak. The finish is long, vibrant and moreish, with strong flavours of mocha coming through.

We were delighted when our first vintage - the 1999 - won a Gold Medal at the 2001 International Wine Challenge in London, the largest and most respected blind wine tasting in the world.
