Mâcon Blanc

The Drouin family have five acres of vines in the appellation of Mâcon, and their winemaking combines the best of traditional methods with contemporary equipment and expertise. Their Mâcon blanc, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, regularly wins medals at the prestigious Concours Agricole in Paris. It has a floral, fruity bouquet and a touch of classic lemon-nutty Chardonnay character giving way to a quite complex fruit, spice and vanilla flavour.

When we first started buying Thierry's Mâcon blanc we thought that although it was delicious when young, it wouldn't age very well. How wrong we were! Having had many vintages now we can say with complete confidence that this Mâcon blanc develops a delicious round, buttery character as it ages, while losing none of the balancing acidity that makes it so mouthwatering in its youth.
