About The Vineyards
The Burgundy village of Bouzeron has a wonderfully vinous ring to it - which is one reason we turned off the beaten track to discover it a few years ago. Another reason was that it is the only village in France with its very own appellation for Aligoté wine, awarded in 1979 - Bourgogne Aligoté de Bouzeron. Aligoté from Bouzeron is famous throughout France but is generally overlooked in the UK's dash for Chardonnay.
Our winemaker, David Déprés, is a charming young man whose Aligoté de Bouzeron is available in the restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower. However, Partners in this vineyard don't have to climb all those steps to get it! Not only do we make it easy, but Partners also have the opportunity to also enjoy some of David 's red Premier Cru Rully from his Les Cloux vineyard. One of David's professors at wine school was Jean-Jacques Confuron (one of the most respected winemakers of the Côte de Nuits) and when you taste his wines you will realise that David was a very good pupil.
