Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge
The red Hautes Côtes de Beaune is slightly less concentrated than the Maranges and is normally ready to drink sooner. This wine spends 6 to 9 months in oak before bottling and then a further two years ageing in bottle before being released. The bouquet of soft red fruits follows through to the palate with a background of sweet vanilla and gentle balancing acidity, making this a particularly good red wine to accompany food with spicy dressings or creamy sauces.
