The Chalmeau family have been winemakers in the ancient village of Chitry-le-Fort, near Chablis, for four generations. Franck Chalmeau, the eldest of four children, is now in charge of the domaine. Having started his apprenticeship with his father Edmond at the age of 10, helping to bottle and label the wine, he is now a fully-qualified oenologist from the wine school at Beaune. Franck's brother Sébastien has finished his studies and now works with Franck.
The Chalmeau’s wines feature in all the top French wine guides and regularly win medals at the most prestigious wine fairs in France, and at the International Wine Challenge in London, the largest and most respected blind wine tasting in the world.

What delightful people the Chalmeau family are! Sebastian welcomed us and showed us round everywhere. ... This was all matched, if not exceeded, with a full tasting of all their wines with great honesty and warmth. Consequently we are convinced we have chosen - with your vital help - the very best wine possible. So thank you all at 3D Wines for providing us with such an exciting and enjoyable experience, with promise of excellent wine to sample in the future. We really enjoyed a perfect experience.
