Château Rousselle

The Côtes de Bourg is one of the prettiest parts of the Bordeaux wine region, and Château Rousselle, with its beautiful swimming pool above the vines is a popular place to visit - and stay. Our exclusive Côtes de Bourg is a fresh and full-flavoured wine which is bright ruby in colour. It has a cherry bouquet with ripe blackcurrants, and a touch of liquorice and chocolate on the palate.

About The Vineyards

Chateau_Roudelle.jpg

Our first vineyard in Bordeaux. Partners had been asking for it for long enough and ever since our first visit to Bordeaux in 1985 we had been searching for a vineyard like this. We had visited dozens of domaines throughout the region, from Blaye to Bergerac and from Pauillac to Pomerol. It is certainly true to say that this region had proved the hardest yet for us to find that elusive combination of quality wine, great value, warm welcome and joie de vivre that are the cornerstones of 3D Wines.

So why did we choose the Côtes de Bourg for our first vineyard in Bordeaux? Well, this is the region we first visited all those years ago, and although it is not the best known, its star is rising. Watch out for a lot of development here over the next 10-15 years as Bordeaux starts to seriously tackle the competition from the New World - and be happy you discovered it first! Like most of the best things in France, the French like to keep it to themselves - most of the wine from the individual châteaux of the Côtes de Bourg is sold to private customers in France. Most of the small quantity we do see in the UK tends to be from one of the two big cooperatives at Pugnac or Cars.

We are sure that you will not be disappointed with Château Rousselle. Vincent Lemaitre has spent the last few years pouring boundless energy and enthusiasm into renovating this attractive property in the Côtes de Bourg. He has ripped out the old chai, installed new winemaking equipment, renovated the château and furnished three lovely chambres d'hôtes bedrooms in an outbuilding adjacent to the chai. We would certainly advise you stay here at the château when you visit, but be warned - do book early as they are very popular.
