We have been visiting the many and varied vineyards of Bordeaux since 1985. This may be France's best known wine region but it proved the hardest yet for us to find that elusive combination of quality wine, good value, warm welcome and joie de vivre that are the cornerstones of 3D Wines.
We met Philippe and Valérie Bassereau at an exhibition in Bordeaux in April 2000. We were very impressed with their wines and when we visited the château that has been their family's home for 100 years, we were captivated. Built in 1740, this small, turreted château is the epitome of the 'fairytale castle' of childhood dreams. Add to that the rolling vine-covered hills, the impressive winery and barrel cellar - and the fact that you can stay here in one of three chambres d'hôtes - and we guarantee you will want to return.
